We are very pleased to welcome you to the 2015 SHCY conference, which will be held on UBC’s Vancouver campus from June 24-26. UBC, which is located on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Musqueam First Nation, is nestled in a gorgeous natural setting: a peninsula on the west side of Vancouver, about 30 minute bus ride from downtown Vancouver. Conference sessions will take place a short walk from the on-campus accommodations. The UBC campus includes the renowned Museum of Anthropology, the UBC Botanical Gardens and the Nitobe Memorial Garden, a variety of restaurants and cafes, trails through the woods, and even a clothing-optional beach!

The conference will commence on Wednesday, June 24, at 12:00 p.m. Lunches will be provided for the three days of the conference. Professor Karen Dubinsky of Queen’s University will deliver the keynote address on Wednesday afternoon, followed by a welcome reception. On Thursday, June 25, the awards banquet will take place at Sage Bistro, followed by a dance, also on campus. The conference will conclude at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 26.
